As the name implies, a solar phone battery charger harnesses the power of the sun (a.k.a solar power) to provide electricity to your devices or charge the battery. The benefit of these portable gadgets is that they do not require an external electricity source to work, making them fantastic for outside enthusiasts or people who many not have access to a power outlet right now (like if you're at a music festival in the middle of the desert or midway through a scenic hike).

At the Good House Cleaning Institute, we check tech products from water resistant speakers to gas leak detectors. To check solar charges, we take them to our basic light space and time how long it takes to completely charge each unit. Then, we see the length of time it takes to charge different gadgets over 400 hours of battery draining over our newest testing.
